Plan a visitOur school-age program is a recreational program serving children in Kindergarten through 8th grade. LSS counselors provide children with chances to decompress, play, create, and engage with one another through after school and summer camp, which runs July through August. Full-day care is available on CPS days off, too. We offer classrooms with age-appropriate games, activities, art, music and more. Children choose what to do with their time here, whether that is a board game with a friend, a drawing at the art table, or shooting hoops. We also take field trips throughout Chicagoland to visit museums, indoor gyms, and nature centers. Children come back with something they saw, something they made, or something they want to tell you about at pickup.

Our infant program provides each child with individualized care. That means teachers learn your baby's own rhythms for feeding, sleeping, and playing rather than running one schedule for the whole room. Those daily back-and-forth moments are how trusting, caring bonds form between each child and our teachers.
Toddlers are busy building new skills and knowledge every week, and we treat that work seriously. Our program gives them the best care we can and the most enriching environment possible, with materials and space matched to the way toddlers actually explore.
Our Preschool program encourages our two-year-olds' curiosity and exploration in learning. Children spend time in independent play and in group, hands-on experiences. Teachers follow what catches a child's attention and build on it, so two-year-olds are practicing choice, focus, and being part of a group.
Child-directed learning continues in Pre-K, in an environment that facilitates learning and exploration while preparing children for Kindergarten. Teachers set up the room and the materials, then let children lead with their questions and ideas. That balance gives them room to explore and the steady practice they need for the next step.
In a school-age room, the day starts with a snack and a breather. Children have been in class all day and often need time before they want to talk or join anything. Counselors offer choices rather than a set schedule: games, art, music, or quiet corners for homework and reading. On CPS days off, the pace changes, with full days and room for longer projects and trips. The benefit shows up at home. A child who has had space to move and make things after school tends to come to dinner with more to say and less to argue about. Mixed ages in the room mean older children practice patience and younger ones find someone to look up to. Parents get a clear picture of how the afternoon went when they pick up.
